Remove Makeup Thoroughly, Otherwise Makeup Residue Will Damage the Skin
Whether it’s light makeup or heavy makeup, as long as you wear makeup, you must remove it thoroughly—makeup residue will clog pores, leading to acne, closed comedones, dull skin, and even damage the skin barrier in the long run. Different makeup corresponds to different makeup removers: for light makeup (sunscreen, cushion, lipstick), you can choose makeup remover water, paired with cotton pads for gentle wiping, mild and non-irritating; for heavy makeup (eye shadow, eyeliner, mascara, foundation), prioritize makeup remover oil or balm, which dissolves makeup more thoroughly and is not easy to leave residue. The makeup removal steps should be standardized: first remove eye and lip makeup, soak a cotton pad with makeup remover, apply it on the eyes and lips for 30 seconds, then gently wipe, avoiding vigorous pulling of the skin around the eyes (the skin around the eyes is thin and prone to fine lines); then remove facial makeup, massage the face with makeup remover oil/balm for 1-2 minutes to dissolve makeup and oil, then emulsify with warm water, and finally clean again with facial cleanser to ensure no residue. Remember: do not use facial cleanser instead of makeup remover; its cleaning power is insufficient and cannot completely remove makeup residue.
