Core of Skin Care – Inadequate Cleansing Makes Subsequent Steps Useless
Cleansing is the first and most error-prone step in skin care. Both over-cleansing and under-cleansing can damage the skin barrier. First of all, the facial cleanser should be suitable for your skin type: for oily/combination skin, you can choose a facial cleanser with amino acid compounded with soap base, which has sufficient cleaning power and is not easy to dry out; for dry/sensitive skin, prioritize pure amino acid facial cleanser, which is mild and non-irritating. Secondly, the frequency of cleansing should be moderate: once every morning and evening is enough. Use warm water or a mild facial cleanser in the morning, and a facial cleanser with moderate cleaning power in the evening to remove oil and makeup residues of the day. In addition, the cleansing technique should be gentle: massage in circular motions with your fingertips, avoid vigorous rubbing; after washing your face, gently press and absorb the moisture with a clean face towel, do not wipe back and forth, and apply skin care products within 3 minutes to lock in skin moisture. Remember: frequent exfoliation and use of cleansing masks will damage the skin barrier, leading to sensitivity and redness.
